Identifying and addressing housing needs requires teamwork. Idaho Housing is fortunate to have developed long-standing cooperative relationships among housing, community and economic development professionals. The resulting dialogue creates opportunities to identify common interests, forge productive alliances and create more effective strategies to make Idaho strong.
Regional Housing Roundtables Idaho Housing hosts local Housing Coordination Roundtable meetings across Idaho semi-annually in the spring and fall. Housing organizations, service provider organizations, state agencies whose programs relate to or support housing activities, and associated industry organizations' representatives are invited to meet, share current and upcoming program information relating to housing resources or activities, and participate in discussions regarding housing issues and housing policy development for Idaho. Idaho Community Review Team The Idaho Community Review Team is a group of professionals in the areas of land-use planning, community and economic development and other aspects of community building and offers free on-site review with rural communities working to manage change and cultivate local resilience and vitality. Plans and Reports
Idaho Housing works with the community to create housing plans and needs assessments. Idaho Housing and the Idaho Department of Commerce produce a Five-Year Strategic Plan for Housing and Community Development on behalf of the State of Idaho and its non-entitlement communities. NW Community Development Institute Idaho Housing staff partner with the Institute to educate community and economic developers on the role of housing in their strategic planning. The Institute is an annual, week-long training for those interested in pursuing community and economic development as a profession or to enhance their knowledge base.
