The program, which helps Idahoans experiencing financial hardship because of the pandemic, is accepting applications again for people living outside of Ada County. Renters can go to https://www.idahohousing.com/hpp/ to find out if they qualify and apply for assistance. Further information is available by calling 1-855-452-0801.

“The initial funding for the Housing Preservation Program helped thousands of Idahoans during this difficult time,” said Brady Ellis, vice president of Housing Support Programs at Idaho Housing. “We are grateful for these additional funds and are eager to assist renters immediately.”

The Housing Preservation Program was initially funded last April with a $250,000 investment by Idaho Housing and Finance. Later that summer, Gov. Brad Little and the Coronavirus Financial Advisory Committee allocated $15 million from the state’s Coronavirus Relief Fund to the program. During the 2021 legislative session, lawmakers agreed to allocate another $175 million in federal rental assistance to fund the program.
