Avenues for Hope raises more than $1.3 million for housing nonprofits in Idaho
The 2019 Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge raised a record $1,321,394 for 73 Idaho nonprofits. The annual fundraising campaign, from Dec. 12 through Dec. 31, helps support nonprofits that manage the day-to-day work of helping Idahoans find safe, stable and affordable housing.
The effort helps chronically and temporarily homeless, domestic violence survivors, veterans, people with disabilities, vulnerable youth, seniors, and low-income Idahoans.
St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho ($136,424), LEAP Charities ($112,221) Corpus Christi House ($97,924) were the top three earners in this year’s campaign.
The campaign, organized by the Home Partnership Foundation and Idaho Housing and Finance Association, has now nearly $4.4 million since its inception 2011.
“We would like to thank all of our 3,328 generous donors and 40 sponsors for their help in exceeding our $1 million goal for this year’s Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge,” said Gerald M. Hunter, president of Idaho Housing and Finance Association. “The donations to this homeless prevention effort support the programs and services offered to thousands of Idahoans who are struggling to find safe, stable and affordable housing. The generosity of the donors and sponsors truly makes a difference in the lives of our neighbors.”
Though the 2019 campaign is over, donations can still be made to support housing needs by visiting the Home Partnership Foundation’s website.
