Get Help with Past-Due Mortgage Payments
If you’ve fallen behind on your home payments, you’re not alone.
The Homeowner Assistance Fund was created to help eligible Idaho homeowners impacted by COVID-19 who:
- Have fallen behind on their mortgage payments, and/or
- Are behind with housing-related expenses
Find Out If You Qualify
Additional program requirements apply, but in general help is available to households that:
- Own and occupy a home in Idaho as a primary residence
- Meet the program’s income limits
- Are behind on home or related payments
- Faced financial hardship related to the COVID-19 pandemic after January 21, 2020
Apply
If you think you qualify for homeowner assistance, you’ll need to gather some information before starting an application, including:
- Documentation of your household income. See the Frequently Asked Questions below for a list of documents we can accept.
- Information about your mortgage servicer. Find out the name of the company you send your mortgage payment to each month. You can look at your mortgage statement for contact information or use the tools on this page. If you’re having difficulty, email haf@ihfa.org or call 888-991-2166.
- An electronic copy of a government-issued ID

Frequently Asked Questions
Eligible owner-occupied properties include:
- Single-family attached and detached properties
- Manufactured homes permanently attached to real property and taxed as real estate
- One- to four-unit properties, if the homeowner is living in one of the units as a primary residence
- Manufactured homes permanently attached to real property that are on a leasehold land, are subject to the mortgage lien, and are insured by a title policy
- Single-family (attached or detached) properties that are on leasehold land, are subject to a mortgage lien, and are insured by a title policy
