BOISE—The Home Partnership Foundation awarded $1,000 in Early Bird challenge grants to the five Idaho nonprofits which received the highest number of donations as of Nov. 30 through the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge, an online campaign launched by the Foundation last month. The grant funds will help the nonprofits continue their mission to prevent homelessness and meet the critical needs in their communities.
CATCH Inc. of Caldwell; Advocates Against Family Violence Inc. – Hope’s Door of Caldwell; The Jesse Tree of Idaho of Boise; Family Services Alliance of Southeast Idaho of Pocatello; and CLUB Inc of Idaho Falls received the $1,000 Early Bird challenge grants as part of the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge. With this campaign, the Foundation hopes to inspire individuals to give and show their support to local nonprofits working with the homeless. Over $25,000 in challenge grants are being awarded by the Home Partnership Foundation through the campaign to help freeze out homelessness this winter.
“We appreciate the generosity of donors who have shown support for the nonprofits participating in the Avenues for Hope housing challenge campaign. These organizations work very hard to meet the needs of those at-risk of or experiencing homelessness, and funds from this campaign will help them provide more services to families in need of secure, safe and stable housing,” said Julie Williams, IHFA executive vice president and Home Partnership Foundation vice president.
Donations towards the campaign can still be made through Dec. 31 and participating nonprofits statewide are eligible for additional challenge grants, ranging from $500 to $5,000. The KeyBank Foundation will also offer two leadership grants of $1,000 to the two nonprofits in Idaho who have the highest number of donors making gifts of $100 or more. This is additional grant funding available to your community on top of the donations received to help the homeless this winter.
The Foundation, which was created by Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA) in 2005 to help people build a strong foundation for their lives through stable, safe and affordable housing, is coordinating the fundraising efforts at www.aveunesforhope.org. Participants (both donors and nonprofits) can track their positions online and compare their fundraising efforts to other organizations.
Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge expects to raise over $50,000 –including donations and challenge grants– to help prevent homelessness in Idaho. Give today to service providers in your area by logging onto www.avenuesforhope.org. Together, we can bring families off the street in our communities.
