Southeast Idaho nonprofits need your support this month as they raise money to provide critical housing and supportive services during the 14th annual Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge.
Donations made during the 23-day online fundraising campaign provide the resources that enable organizations like the Blaine County Charitable Fund to provide a safety net for a workforce that is vital to the resort community but struggles with rising housing costs.
“It’s really important for the people that keep the economy going in our community to be able to maintain stability,” said Mary Fauth, executive director of the Blaine County Charitable Fund. “The money raised during Avenues for Hope ensures that we never have to turn someone away in times of crisis.”
Blaine County Charitable Fund is one of 28 nonprofits in Southeast Idaho participating in this year’s campaign. The money they raise helps chronically and temporarily homeless, domestic violence survivors, veterans, people with disabilities, vulnerable youth, seniors, and low-income Idahoans. Over the past 13 years, Avenues for Hope has helped raise almost $16 million.
“The nonprofits participating in Avenues for Hope are a lifeline for thousands of Idaho’s most vulnerable every year,” said Gerald M. Hunter, president of Idaho Housing and Finance. “Thanks to their dedication and the generous support from our sponsors, we’re not just addressing their housing needs, we’re helping them create a brighter future.”
Donors can direct their tax-deductible gifts to one or more nonprofit organizations through Dec. 31 at avenuesforhope.org.
