Retired Idaho banker Jack Hetherington has been appointed to the Idaho Housing and Finance Association board of commissioners.
“I consider myself blessed to have had the opportunities I’ve had,” Hetherington said. “I look forward to contributing to Idaho Housing’s mission to improve the lives of all Idahoans.”
Hetherington was appointed to a four-year term by Idaho Gov. Brad Little. He joins Chairman Steven Keen, Vice Chairman Mark Dunham, Secretary/Treasurer Nancy Vannorsdel, Jeffrey Nesset, Tracy Silver and Scot Ludwig on Idaho Housing’s seven-member board.
“Mr. Hetherington’s financial expertise and his commitment to Idaho communities will be an asset to our organization as we address housing needs throughout the state,” said Gerald M. Hunter, president of Idaho Housing and Finance. “It’s a privilege to welcome him to our board.”
Hetherington spent his 33-year lending career with Northwest Farm Credit Services, retiring in 2007 as the organization’s vice president of corporate lending. Over the years, Hetherington has served in volunteer and leadership positions for a number of civic and professional organizations, including the Idaho Vandal Scholarship Fund, local Rotary clubs, homeowner association boards and the nonprofit organization Higher Ground.
In addition to a degree in advanced agricultural lending from Washington State University, Hetherington has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Idaho. He graduated from Emmett High School.
