The Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge is a chance for donors to help 29 nonprofit organizations that provide essential housing and services in communities throughout Idaho. The Home Partnership Foundation is spearheading the campaign, which is a grassroots, online effort to give nonprofits a much-needed funding boost during a time when they need it the most.

Donors are encouraged to go to www.avenuesforhope.org from Dec. 4 to Dec. 31 to learn about and support the participating nonprofits in each region of the state. The organizations that receive the most individual donations of $25 or more are eligible for portions of $45,000 in grants from the Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization created by Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA). The KeyBank Foundation also will award $2,000 in grants. The winning organization receives $10,000. Other grants ranging from $7,500 to $500 will be awarded.

“Last year’s inaugural Avenues for Hope campaign raised nearly $50,000 in individual donations and grants for 22 Idaho nonprofits,” said Gerald M. Hunter, Foundation president and IHFA’s president and executive director. “This is the only statewide fundraiser focused solely on helping organizations that provide safe and stable housing for Idaho families at risk of being left out in the cold, which is why we increased the grant amount by 74 percent for this year’s campaign.”
