With two weeks still remaining in the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge, Idaho nonprofits have eclipsed last year’s fundraising totals. Through Dec. 18, $26,663 had been raised from 518 donors. By comparison, last year’s inaugural campaign raised $19,853 from 391 people in six weeks.
The Home Partnership Foundation, which is spearheading the online-only effort to give nonprofits a much-needed funding boost, has awarded $8,000 in grants so far. Grants worth $39,000 will be awarded to participating nonprofits statewide over the next two weeks.
The Avenues for Hope campaign is a grassroots effort that allows donors to help 31 nonprofit organizations that provide essential housing and services in communities throughout Idaho. Donors are encouraged to go to www.avenuesforhope.org through Dec. 31 to learn about the campaign and to give to the participating nonprofits in each region of the state. The organizations that receive the most individual donations of $25 or more are eligible for grants from the Home Partnership Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization created by Idaho Housing and Finance Association (IHFA), and the KeyBank Foundation.
