Effective as of December 29, 2024
The new smoke alarm requirements listed below are now in effect for units assisted by Idaho Housing.
- Smoke alarms are required in each sleep room*; and
- Smoke alarms must be either electrically hard-wired OR sealed alarms with 10-year batteries.
*a sleep room is typically a bedroom, but may include another space where a person regularly sleeps.
