• Access to meals and food banks
• Necessary services such as showers and laundry facilities

Idaho Housing’s rental experts can help you find and maintain affordable rental housing and navigate housing challenges.

• Gain access to financial management tools and learn to develop a budget and debt-reduction plan
• Learn how to apply for rental assistance
• Ask questions about your rights and responsibilities as a renter, and receive a referral for legal advice if needed

Housing Choice Vouchers help low-income renters find safe, stable, and affordable housing by creating housing options and reducing expenses. 

• Idaho Housing administers vouchers for 34 of 44 Idaho counties
• Participants contribute about 30% of their income to rent/utilities
• The HCV program pays the difference directly to the landlord

Families who participate in the Housing Choice Voucher program are eligible for the Family Self-Sufficiency program, a voluntary program that helps families achieve their goals and become economically independent.

• Receive support as you overcome obstacles and work together toward self-sufficiency
