BOISE, Idaho – Treasure Valley Lenders and REALTORS® will receive STAR awards tomorrow, April 6, 2017 for connecting homebuyers to affordable home loans through Idaho Housing and Finance Association. These housing partners play a key role in the Treasure Valley real estate market by guiding homebuyers and helping them pair their desired home with the right loan program for their families. During 2016, this year’s 26 honorees — 15 Lenders and 11 REALTORS — teamed with Idaho Housing to help 1,093 homebuyers purchase homes, representing a $258 million investment in the Treasure Valley.

“By combining competitive rates with programs such as down payment and closing cost assistance, Idaho Housing has helped 62,298 Treasure Valley families become new homeowners in the past 40 years,” said Gerald M. Hunter, president of Idaho Housing and Finance Association. “In total, this represents an investment of more than $5.9 billion in the Treasure Valley.”

Tomorrow’s appreciation luncheon will be held from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at The Clubhouse Event Center in Boise. The award presentation begins at 12:30 p.m. The following 15 Lenders will receive STAR Awards for representing the most Idaho Housing borrowers last year:

Idaho Housing provides affordable mortgage financing to creditworthy Idahoans with low to moderate incomes. To date, the organization has invested more than $10 billion around the state to help 113,958 families. An important part of that investment is a robust homebuyer education program that has helped nearly 65,000 future Idaho homeowners.
