BOISE, Idaho – Idaho Housing and Finance Association and its Home Partnership Foundation are pleased to announce that a total of $501,439 was raised for 40 Idaho nonprofits in its sixth annual Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge that ended December 31. The annual event enables businesses and individuals to support nonprofits providing housing and critical services for the homeless across the state.
The campaign received 2,232 donations this year, for a total of $292,739, plus grant prizes and matching funds of $208,700 supported by 29 generous sponsors. The campaign continues to grow every year, with a 55% increase in the number of donations from the public and a 70% increase in total funds raised this year over 2015.
“The response has been inspiring and we thank all our generous donors for their gifts, which will help many of the state’s homeless during these cold winter months,” said Gerald M. Hunter, president of Idaho Housing. “It’s been an exciting campaign for us and we’re happy to be able to help so many nonprofits and the communities they serve.”
More than $1,472,640 has been raised in the last six years, since Avenues for Hope was introduced in 2011. While the 2016 campaign has concluded, donations may still be made to participating nonprofits on the website (www.avenuesforhope.org) or via a text-to-give $10 option (text HOUSING to 50555).
Home Partnership Foundation, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation of Idaho Housing, organizes the Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge every year to enhance funding for housing nonprofits throughout the state. Nonprofits, businesses, and individuals interested in participating in next year’s campaign should contact Deanna Ward, Development Director of Home Partnership Foundation, at 208-331-4756 for more information.
A detailed table follows with the total amount raised by each of the nonprofits that participated in this year’s campaign, including individual donations, campaign prizes and matching funds.
