Idaho nonprofits received a big boost this holiday season thanks to the 14th annual Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge. The 2024 campaign smashed our previous record, raising more than $5.2 million over 23 days, benefiting 99 Idaho nonprofits. The money will help organizations throughout the state that provide critical housing and supportive services to Idahoans in need.
In Southwest Idaho, 50 nonprofits raised $4,117,758 during the campaign. We also set a record with the largest single donation ever, a $1 million gift to LEAP Housing. That helped the nonprofit raise $1,339,674, the most money in the region. Interfaith Sanctuary brought in $807,658, while Jesse Tree, with $564,205, rounded out the top three.
The campaign, organized by Idaho Housing and Finance’s foundation, has raised $20.7 million since its inception in 2011.
“As demand for housing and supportive services grows rapidly in our state, it is incredible to see so many Idahoans step up to help our neighbors,” said Gerald M. Hunter, president of Idaho Housing and Finance. “Our sincere appreciation goes out to the thousands of generous donors, sponsors, and especially to the dedicated nonprofits across Idaho that provide for those in desperate need.”
Though the 2024 campaign is over, donations can still be made to support housing needs by visiting the Home Partnership Foundation’s website.
